To realize the greatest profitability in blending operations, a
blend optimization system is used to provide management of the
component and product tanks, blend header, online and laboratory
analytical systems, and planning/ scheduling activities.
An optimized blending system produces blended products with a high
degree of precision to meet specifications while minimizing quality
giveaway, maximizing the use of the lowest-cost components in the
blend, increasing the flexibility of the tank farm operation, and
minimizing the frequency of re-blends. A flexible objective function
permits component cost, inventory constraints, or product
specification to direct the optimizer. It also eliminates the need
for bulk storage tanks and speeds up the rate of production,
minimizing inventory and reduces capital cost.

The basic requirements that a modern blending system should meet
are, real-time information about mixing components, quantity and
quality and their batching. These tasks could be most effectively

participation except for designing of blending logics and starting
